NAFSA Co-Sponsors Hill Reception, Furthers Tribal Lending Advocacy at NACA Conference

NAFSA COO & General Counsel Joe Sarcinella is representing the organization this week at the Native American Contractors Association’s (NACA) Federal Contracting Policy and Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. Although NACA is generally focused on boosting opportunities for Native-owned businesses in federal contracting, their annual policy conference also includes discussions on overall economic development in Indian Country and the importance of sovereignty for Native businesses.

As part of the organization’s presence at the conference, NAFSA is co-sponsoring a Hill reception Tuesday night. Attendees will gather the following morning to meet with members of Congress and promote tribal economic development opportunities.

The NACA conference caps off a busy few weeks for NAFSA staff. Including the NACA conference, NAFSA staff have traveled to Dallas for Lend360, Milwaukee for the National Congress of American Indian’s 74th Annual Conference, and Tulsa for the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma’s annual conference, “The Gathering.” Conference attendance, participation on panels, and keynote addresses are just a few of the ways NAFSA staff promote the organization’s mission and advocate for its membership to Indian Country and across the financial services industry.
