NAFSA Ends Busy Month Discussing Tribal Lending with Industry Professionals and Tribal Officials

Earlier this month, NAFSA staff had the opportunity to attend both Lend360 and the National Congress of American Indians’ (NCAI) 74th Annual Convention and Marketplace. At Lend360, the biggest conference in online lending, NAFSA Director of Policy and Research Clif Cottrell met with industry professionals and listened in on panels headlined by NAFSA tribal and associate members on the topics of cybersecurity, lending to underserved markets, and marketing.

The following week, Cottrell and NAFSA COO & General Counsel Joe Sarcinella represented the organization with a booth at the largest annual gathering of tribal officials, government representatives, and Native businesses for NCAI’s 74th Annual Convention and Marketplace in Milwaukee, WI. The NCAI meeting ran the full gamut of Indian Country issues and interests, and NAFSA was excited to meet with business owners and tribal representatives about the benefits and growth in tribal lending. After a busy month of advocacy, discussion, and promotion of Native financial services, NAFSA staff are ready to continue the conversation and help tribal lending become a leading economic driver in Indian Country.
